St Patrick's day freebies all over the place...

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone (Irish or not a bit of luck is always good).

There are kits for the occasion everywhere, but the best one is over at Stacey's Scraps. First it's a freebie, second the title is awesome: "I'm not Irish but kiss me anyway", how cute is that? And third, the colours and textures are gorgeous as always.
Take a look:

You can click the image to get it all (all today!).

And she didn't make an alpha, because she made it all this morning just for us! But I happen to have a little alpha freebie that could go with it ;)

Here's Kiss Me:

Click the image or here to get it and leave Stacey and me some love if you download!

Festive alpha

The alpha I made for Chinese Zodiac is bright and quite festive, take a look:

Like it?

I know that sometimes we don't want to use the alpha, or at least not for everything, so I thought I'd share with the you the font I used so you can do some journalling, write dates, etc., with a font that matches the kit perfectly. It's from Harold's fonts and it's called Chow Fun.

Now here's your link to download the alpha:

Enjoy!

Pop Shop add-on

It's been a while since I gave you anything and I don't seem to have time or bring myself to designing a full kit right now, but I made you another alpha that coordinates with the Pop Shop collab that I did with the fabulous Vicki from A Work in Progress back in September.

It looks like this:

The image is linked to 4shared for download.
It matches the colour of the collab, but you could easily desaturate and recolour it to match any other kit.
Hope you like it!

On a Crisp Autumn Day alpha

I'm glad you like the kit. I have to say that I myself LOVE that colour palette and I'm really happy with the kit!

I had fun with the alpha. I made it orange with a teal edge, and with kind of a sticker border. But I also decided to make it "stitchable". You might have noticed a long stitch in the elements, I used the same stitch to make a sshort one that you can used for each letter (with two "finished" ends). Then I thought, "what if people want to stitch the whole title or text together?". Because of the end look to the stitch, it wouldn't look great. So you'll notice that I made one with "ends" and one without, and if you make a bottom layer with the ends and overlap a top layer with no ends, you can produce a stitch of any length you need!
Does any of that make sense? :/

Hopefully when you see it, you'll get it... in the meantime, here's what the alpha looks like:

Just click on the image or here to get it!
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for a cluster frame and Friday for a quickpage!

Would you like an alpha with that?

I truly believe that no kit is complete without a matching alpha and collabs are awesome for that because you get two!
Before I show you the alphas, I want to show you the last few layouts.
First, my sister Anne-Laure surprised me with 2 more layouts yesterday, take a look:

I have no idea who the bride is, but she's pretty and the layouts are great! Merci Nenaure!

The 2 designers of the collab also decided to do layouts ;)
Here's Vicki's (I love it!):

And mine:

Today, you get the last piece of the collab, the two alphas you've been seeing on the layouts!
Take a look at Vicki's, it's so fun, I love it (click on the preview to go to her blog):

And mine (clickable to go to 4shared and download!):

I do have a few things to add (so I hope you kept reading...).
First, a huge thank you to you Vicki, for doing this collab with me!
Second, thanks to both CTs for all the awesome inspiration they provided.
And finally, I want to let you know about a font I discovered yesterday which would go soooo well with this kit. It's called Bubble and I love it. It's free right here (just scroll down the list to find it):
I like it so much I'm thinking of making an extra alpha...
Enjoy the kit and happy scrapping!

PS: there will be more freebies, the next one is almost ready and should be released in a week and a half, so keep visiting the blog...

Motoring, the alpha

At the end of every good kit is an alpha (at least that's how I feel, I love a matching alpha...).
So here's the alpha to match Motoring, and like the kit, it's a bright one!

Take a look:

Here's the link to download (or click the image):

Come back tomorrow for one last little surprise to go with the kit...
And leave some love if you have a second!

My fruity alpha!

Before I move on to the alpha for Pina Colada, I want to show you a layout I made for Cheryl's recipe challenge this week (at the Scrap That Idea blog), using Beautiful Garden by Vicki (available at Scrap That Idea):

Now here's the alpha! It's actually pineapple on coconut shell!! I was pretty happy with the idea and quite pleased with the result. I hope you like it too, take a look:

Click here or on the image to go to 4shared and download. And leave me some love if you do...
Visit the blog again soon, in case I decide to make a quickpage (no promises but you never know).
Until then, happy scrapping!

A little RAK from my sister

As I said yesterday, my sister thought the alpha was too dark... So she recoloured it all with some papers from the kit (a dark pink for the uppercase letters, numbers and punctuation, and a paler pink for lowercase letters).
I put it all together for you and put it on 4shared. I don't have a preview but I can show you a couple of examples (it's the same alpha, just different colour):

You'll notice that on the darker ones, she left a little edge and some brown, as if the papers was torn, giving it a bit of a shabby look. I love it! Merci Nenaure!

If you want the recoloured alpha, click here:
bo pink alpha

I'll be back later today or tomorrow to show you some of my latest layouts!

Wooden alpha

Today, you get the last part of Blooming Orchard. I wanted the alpha to contrast with all the colours and I thought a wooden look would work. My sister said that on her laptop, the colour looked too dark... I hope some of you like it anyways, it's the same colour and texture as the fence, fence frame and clothes pin elements (and you can always recolour a bit if it's too dark!).

Here's the preview:

You can get the alpha here:
bo alpha

My sister has also started making another alpha (same font, different colour), so check back in the next couple of days if you want to get a second matching alpha!

Second alpha and a layout!

A quick post before taking Cédric to playgroup, to give you the second alpha for Schatzie.

But before I do that, my sister has made a layout using the kit. She used a picture of Dave, Cédric and me, so it's a little gift for me at the same time. Merci Anne-Laure!

Now here are the preview and link for what I call the "fur alpha":

You can get it here:
Schatzie fur alpha

I might have a quickpage for you using the kit in the next couple of days...

The first of two freebie alphas...

I'm glad people seem to enjoy the Schatzie kit!
For some reason, I made two alphas... I started with one, then while playing with the paint stains and frames in the elements, I decided to try to make a "paint splat" alpha.
I only made capital letters and numbers for this one, and it's the one I'll give you today. Tomorrow you'll get the "furry" alpha, which includes upper and lowercase, numbers and some punctuation.

Here's what my "splat" alpha looks like:

Hope you like it! I was pretty happy with the result.
You can get it here:
splat alpha

As usual, a little comment goes a long way...
And come back tomorrow for the second alpha!

Oh, and I should mention, my manicure was fabulous, my hands are all soft and my nails all pretty. Thank you, Dave!

The Paper Pond...the alpha

Today is sunnier outside, which is really nice for a change! We might get to go for a walk and take the doggie-girl out for the first time of the season. She's a long-haired mini dachshund and as long as there is water everywhere, we can't really take her because she gets all dirty.

Enough blabla. Back to business. Today you get the alpha for The Paper Pond. First, let me show you yet another layout that my sister Anne-Laure (Nenaure in the comments and forums) did with the kit:

It's actually a picture of me and Dave at a friend's wedding! Merci Nenaure!

Here's the preview of the alpha you get. It contains uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, basic punctuation and even the French accented letters! I like complete alphas myself, so I try to include whatever the font allows.

I hope you like it!
You can get it here on by clicking the image.
Leave me some love if you get it...
For tomorrow, I have something a bit different. Instead of a quickpage I made 2 brag book pages in 4x6 format. Judith actually suggested it. I hope I understood what she meant...
So come back tomorrow to see, or better yet, follow my blog, that way you'll never miss anything!
Bye for now :)

Salty alpha

To match this "food" inspired freebie, I decided to make a "salt and pepper" alpha!
I'm quite happy with it and I hope everybody likes it!
It comes with uppercase, lowercase, numbers and some symbols.
Here's a preview of what it looks like:

The files were pretty large, so I split it into two downloads:
alpha uppercase
alpha lowercase numbers and symbols

Enjoy and leave me some love if you download...
Tomorrow I'll give you a quickpage based on the layout I made with it, so come back!

Spring alpha!

I'm feeling a lot better (not quite 100% but getting there). Cédric is much better, just a bit of runny nose left. But Dave is still feeling really sick, so he didn't go to work and I tried to keep Cédric away so he could rest. Aren't sick husbands fun?

On a happier note, today you get the alphas for Spring has Sprung!
I made two, sort of... One is uppercase letters and symbols, the other is lowercase and symbols.

Hope you like them! I think they're fairly versatile and can go with a lot more kits too!
You can get them here or by clicking on the image.
A little love...and maybe I'll do a quickpage, you never know, check back...

Moody alpha, still free!

Better late than never, tonight I have the alpha coordinated with the Moody freebie!
I made it look like the stars and frames. I chose to leave it in metal, not make it blue or orange. I figured it's more versatile and you can recolour it as you wish!
Here's what it looks like:

Can I just say that I love the font I used for this alpha...lol. It's in all modesty as I didn't make that. I comes from the Free Scrapbook Fonts website, the best source of fonts I've seen so far. I love, love, love their work and I sincerely thank them for making so many nice fonts of such quality available to us!

Now that that's said, here's your link to go to 4shared and get the final piece of the Moody puzzle: http://www.4shared.com/file/94810313/e99dc832/moody_alpha.html

If the "Moody mood" strikes, I'll make a quickpage for the kit, so check back once in a while.
In the meantime, leave me some love if you download and enjoy the
kit!

And the alpha!

Hi everyone,

Today, we are having a crazy wind storm over here. As it's garbage and recycling day, there's stuff flying everywhere, sliding on the snow and my dog Schatzie had decided to bark at everything. Fun!
But you didn't come here for a weather report did you?
Here is the last installment of the poppylium freebie: the alpha.
I had fun making it, although it was a lot of work... and I put my favourite element on it: the sequined rope! Hope you like it...
Here's a preview. Click on the link below it to take you to 4shared and download. And a little comment is always appreciated!

Happy Valentine's Day...

I know it's a little late in the day, but I made it just in time to wish everybody a happy Valentine's Day.
And for the occasion, I decided to share the love and offer you my first ever creation as a freebie.
The last few days, I made a couple of coordinated alphas! I also made a paper and an element to go with them. I can't really call it a kit, but it's two alphas and a couple of extras.
Here's the preview (click it to go to 4shared and download):

http://www.4shared.com/get/87694030/38bee2b6/poppylium_heart_of_stone.html
I hope you can find a use for it!
I would also love any constructive criticism or advise and, if you use it, I would love to see your pages (leave me a link to your creations or send me an e-mail).

Marif XO

PS: I included all sorts of things that may seem strange to English speakers, but the French among us should appreciate...
